For most adults aged 19 and over living in England, the Adult Skills Fund covers the tuition, the materials and the assessment.
What it covers
This qualification is designed to increase learners’ awareness and understanding of behaviour that challenges and its effects.
By completing the qualification, learners will develop in-depth knowledge of behaviour that challenges which could support progression onto other appropriate qualifications and into relevant employment in the health and social care sector.
This qualification would be valuable to learners already working in education and health and social care settings.
On successful completion of the course, you will receive a certificate from NCFE awarding body, confirming your achievement.
Course Structure
To attain this qualification, you need to achieve all 4 units.
- Understand behaviour that challenges (D/615/4809)
- Understand how to support positive behaviour (K/615/4845)
- Understand the importance of effective communication and the management of behaviour that challenges (Y/615/4811)
- Understand the role of reflection and support for those involved in incidents of behaviour that challenges (K/615/4814)

This qualification is internally assessed and internally quality assured by Centre staff and externally quality assured by NCFE External Quality Assurance Consultants (EQACs).
What studying online actually looks like

Everything happens online
The course runs on our online learning platform. There is no need to attend college at any point, though you are welcome to if you would rather work here.

You submit work as you go
Each unit ends in questions you answer and send to your tutor through the platform. There is no exam hall and no fixed deadline to sit anything.

Your tutor writes back
You get full written feedback on every assessment within five working days, and your tutor is available by email or phone during office hours if you get stuck.
Who can study these courses
Funding eligibility
Funding is set nationally. To study one of these courses at no cost you need to be:
- Aged 19 or over
- Currently living in England
- Resident in the UK or EU for the last three years, for reasons other than study
- Not currently on an apprenticeship
