Financial Education

As a college, our mission is to raise the financial awareness of our students to help prepare them as citizens for life in modern society.

North Lindsey college is working towards being an accredited Centre of Excellence, awarded by Young Money. The aim of this work is to prepare our students for life in Modern Britain by equipping them with knowledge, information and skills about a range of financial topics. To achieve this as a College we continue to implement best practice methods.

Awareness

Financial education is a key part of our delivery through timetabled Personal Development sessions with content developed through student and staff consultation.

Events and activities help students understand the importance of financial education and we will always contextualise this via independent learning.

We will invite guest speakers to campus to inspire our students and provide real life information and guidance on current trends, issues and guidance relating to finances.

Training

Within the college, we continuously strive to develop the knowledge of our colleagues. We work with external providers to provide training opportunities and ensure we have up-to-date sector knowledge and awareness.

As a part of our Young Money Centre of Excellence, Financial Champions promote financial education, which includes ensuring relevant staff have training and support to embed the subject into their curriculum. The Centre of Excellence programme has a proven track record in helping young people gain a greater understanding of money and personal finance.
