Are you passionate about supporting children's learning and development? This bespoke course is a starting point for anyone looking to work in schools, and it packs seven qualifications into four weeks.

Who it’s for

A short course aimed at preparing individuals to become a teaching assistant, or to work in a supporting role within schools. Whether you are just starting out or looking to build your confidence, it equips you with the knowledge and skills to take your first steps toward a role in education.

What you’ll gain

  • Preparing to Work in Schools, Level 1 Award Essential insights into the school environment and the role of a teaching assistant.
  • Safeguarding and Protecting Children and Young People, Level 2 Award How to recognise and respond to safeguarding concerns to keep children safe.
  • Health and Safety, Level 2 Award How to maintain a safe and healthy learning environment.
  • Food Safety, Level 2 Award Food hygiene practices, especially important in school settings.
  • British Values, Entry Level 3 Award The core values that underpin life in modern Britain and how they apply in schools.
  • Equality and Diversity, Level 1 Award Inclusive practice, and celebrating diversity in educational settings.
  • Prevention and Control of Infection for the Workplace, Level 2

    Tell your work coach at the Jobcentre you'd like to do this course. They'll refer you to us and confirm your funding eligibility, and we'll be in touch to book your place and your start date.
