A North Lindsey College apprentice has been recognised both locally and nationally for her outstanding contribution to the Health, Safety, and Environment sector.
Aurelia Pearson has been named Apprentice of the Year at the Global Offshore Wind Awards 2025, a prestigious ceremony celebrating achievements across the offshore wind industry.
This national recognition follows Aurelia’s earlier success at the Humber Renewable Awards, where she also took home the title of Apprentice of the Year.
Nominated by her employer, RWE, Aurelia has demonstrated exceptional leadership in sustainability and biodiversity initiatives, alongside a strong commitment to team wellbeing and inclusion.
Among her notable achievements, Aurelia led a biodiversity project that saw the release of thousands of juvenile lobsters into the Triton Knoll wind farm, supporting marine ecosystem regeneration. She is also driving an important initiative to ensure female-specific Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is available for women working aboard offshore vessels, addressing a key gap in safety and comfort within the sector.
Reflecting on her achievements, Aurelia said: “I am over the moon to have received the Global Offshore Wind Awards Apprentice of the Year and feel incredibly fortunate to have the opportunity to attend such a prestigious event.
“North Lindsey College have provided a great support structure to ensure I am exposed to a range of experiences that assist in developing the relevant knowledge, skills and behaviours.”
Patrik Knowles, Vice Principal – Curriculum at DN Colleges Group, said: “Aurelia’s success demonstrates the value of an apprenticeship, equipping apprentices with the knowledge, skills and behaviours that they can then apply to new opportunities, which extend beyond the curriculum. Aurelia’s journey highlights how, with support from her employer, RWE, can lead
to exceptional achievement and impact in the Wind Industry and beyond. Well done and congratulations to Aurelia.”
Apprenticeships continue to offer fantastic opportunities for people at every stage of their career, equipping learners with the skills and experience needed to thrive in the modern workforce.
