DN Colleges Group, which includes the University Campus North Lincolnshire (UCNL) and North Lindsey College in partnership with The Engineering and Construction Training Board (ECITB) have launched a prestigious scholarship aimed at students with or due to achieve a level 3 engineering qualification.
The scholarship offers the opportunity for students to study a Level 4 HNC in Engineering at UCNL at no cost, the ECITB will cover the cost of all tuition fees, also students will receive a £140 per week bursary grant during term time.
The new offer is a fantastic opportunity as it helps prepare students for employment and includes employer engagement during the programme to help make those connections ready to take that next step into employment. For potential higher education students, it will enable them to achieve a higher-level qualification without taking on the debt of university plus additional qualifications.
The ECITB Energy Transfer Technician Scholarship programme starts in September 2022 and applications are open now. It is a 2-year full time programme and includes:
- Level 4 HNC Engineering
- Level 3 Diploma in Engineering Construction Maintenance
- Level 3 Certificate in Leadership and Management
- ECITB Supervisor Training
- ECITB Mechanical Joint Integrity
- Work experience placement
- CCNSG Safety Passport
Jill Cooper, Executive Director Employer Engagement & Projects said, “We have been working with ECITB for the last few years delivering level 3 funded programmes including scholarships and this is an amazing new programme for higher education learners. The programme is 5 days a week, which is why the weekly grant provides students with an income. ECITB work with key employers in our region so it also provides fantastic links to career progression opportunities for their future. That could mean employment, higher apprenticeships, or progression onto complete a degree. The sector has exciting opportunities and earning potential and we really look forward to helping launch peoples’ careers within the industry.’
To be eligible for the programme individuals need to be 18+, hold/about to achieve a level 3 diploma in engineering, as well as English and maths at grade 5 and above.
