North Lindsey College is preparing to welcome prospective students and their families to its first Open Event of the academic year.
Taking place on Tuesday 13th October 2026, from 4.30pm to 7pm, the event will give visitors the opportunity to explore the College’s facilities, meet tutors and find out more about the wide range of courses and opportunities available. With around 1,000 visitors expected, the event will offer prospective students a chance to experience College life for themselves and discover where their next steps could take them.
Aimed particularly at Year 10 and 11 students from Scunthorpe and the surrounding areas, the event will provide an opportunity to ask questions, explore different subject areas and get a feel for the practical, hands-on learning on offer at North Lindsey College.
The whole campus will be open for visitors to explore, including the Engineering Technology Centre, where students develop practical skills to prepare for careers in engineering and motor vehicle. Guests can also see the College’s hair and beauty salons and explore the Lindsey Building, including its all-electric catering kitchens, upgraded air cabin and dedicated SEND area featuring a fully equipped apartment simulation. Across the campus, students and tutors will be showcasing practical learning in areas including construction, motor vehicle, health and social care, education and early years, digital technologies, engineering, hair and beauty, animal management, business, sport and more.
The College continues to invest in its facilities and course offer, including a new specialist Esports suite for students studying the subject, which launched this year. The College has also announced a £2.5 million redevelopment of its construction facilities, creating improved learning environments for students.

Alongside the specialist subject facilities, visitors can explore the College’s social spaces, including the large central dining hall, coffee bar and Learning Resource Centre, as well as find out more about transport links, financial support, additional learning support and progression.
For those unable to attend the event, the College’s next full Open Event will take place on Tuesday 19th January 2027, from 4.30pm to 7pm.
