North Lindsey College, alongside University Centre North Lincolnshire (UCNL), proudly supported this year’s Scunthorpe Pride, once again showing our support for equality, inclusion and the LGBTQ+ community.
The teams set up side-by-side stalls in Church Square on Saturday 29 August, ready to welcome Pride attendees and celebrate together.
Visitors could pick up some free Pride-themed DN Colleges Group merch, find out more about courses ahead of the September start, and enjoy a range of fun activities, including snapping photos in a custom selfie frame. It was a fantastic opportunity to meet people from across the local community and showcase the welcoming environment at North Lindsey College and UCNL.
The celebrations continued throughout the day, with a Pride Parade making its way through Scunthorpe town centre, led by the Lincolnshire Rock Choir and Twinkle Twirlers. The main stage featured performances from a range of acts, including The Cheeky Girls and Platnum, while the Pride market, fairground, food court, bar, kids’ zone and local art exhibition added to the atmosphere.
Jamie Suckley, Digital Technologies Tutor at North Lindsey College, said:
“It was great to be involved in Scunthorpe Pride again this year. There was a really positive atmosphere, and it was great to see so many people from across the local community coming together.”
