T-Levels

T-Levels are a new type of technical qualification that have been introduced as part of the government’s efforts to reform technical education in England.

What are T Levels?

T Level courses are an alternative pathway that offers an exciting blend of practical experience (20%) with classroom learning (80%). One T Level takes 2 years to complete and is the equivalent of 3 A Levels and includes around 315 hours (or 45 days) of industry placement.

They are great for students who know what subject area they want to specialise in after GCSEs and allow them to increase their knowledge, skills, and experience needed for skilled employment, further studies, or higher apprenticeships.

You may prefer to study a T Level if:

  • You already know what career you’re interested in.
  • You enjoy hands-on, practical learning.
  • You want work experience before you finish college.
  • You like the idea of going straight into work or an apprenticeship.
