Professional Football Coach Joins the Team at North Lindsey College

Posted: September 4, 2019

Nathan Jarman, player and Assistant Manager at Lincoln United, will be coaching all football sessions at the college across all levels and all curriculum areas. He will be putting all of his years’ experience in the professional game to train others, revamping the football academy whilst bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience to others.

Nathan has past experience playing in the Football League and non-league football.  Nathan said, “I’ve always played football from a young age and was lucky enough to play professionally for 7 years. After that I’ve continued to play semi-professionally at the highest standard of non-league football. My highlights from playing football include winning promotion from League One with Barnsley, finishing runner up in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy with Grimsby, winning leagues with Alfreton Town & Chester, winning the FA trophy with North Ferriby and captaining Gainsborough in the FA Cup too.

He continued, “I’ve always enjoyed success wherever I have played football and I’m looking to continue that in my current role of player/assistant manager at Lincoln United. It’s an exciting challenge for me to work with the college and develop the students in the football team. I’m looking forward to developing my coaching techniques, working in a different environment to the one I’m used to.”

Students can expect a strong work ethic, innovative sessions to improve themselves and others and also the opportunity to progress in football via our development team and then ultimately our first team over at Lincoln United. Students who do well and apply themselves will be given opportunities at a semi-professional level.

Nathan said, “Cannot wait to get started with this. It’s an exciting challenge for me work with the College and develop students in the football team. Students can expect strong with ethic, innovative sessions to improve themselves and others and also the opportunity to progress into football via our student development team!”

Ian Hamilton (Curriculum Leader for Sport and Uniformed Services) said, “It is fantastic to bring an ex professional footballer who has had a great career in to the College to coach our 1st team. Nathan brings a wealth of experience with him and already has some innovative coaching sessions designed to improve the performance of our players. Nathan is currently player/Assistant Manager at Lincoln United and hopes to use his links and contacts within the game to ensure when our players leave the College they go on to playing at the highest possible level.”
