Parent / Carer Information
Helping your child decide which option is right for them can be a tricky road to navigate, but we’re available to offer parent / carer information to help you map out their options.
North Lindsey College offers a broad range of subjects and progression routes that are supported by employers in every sector. We currently have links with over 800 employers across our region and further afield, so you can be assured that your child is gaining sector knowledge that is so important to them progressing into their chosen career.
We want to ensure that our students reach their full potential. We do that through a combination of relevant programmes of study, individual support and access to additional learning opportunities such as work experience and our enrichment programme.
We provide our students with an education that is reflective of what employers want and need, whether they go into employment straight from College, through an apprenticeship or after university. So you can expect subject content to be tailored to progression into industry, whatever route they take.
Our staff are experts in their field, with many moving into teaching after careers actively working outside of education; bringing with them a wealth of first-hand industry knowledge, that they feed directly into the classroom.
We are committed to supporting all of our students whatever their ability, experience or aspirations. Your support is an essential part of their success, so encouragement at home to attend College, complete work and try their best is so important. During their time at North Lindsey College, we will review their progress and provide parent/carer information so you are fully up-to-date about their progress and achievements.
Our experienced Careers Advice and Guidance team and Progression and Achievement Coaches will work with students to offer support where needed and provide personalised advice and guidance about their next steps.
This help is available to all of our students throughout their time at North Lindsey College. Thousands of students study with us across all of our courses each year, with each individual given the time to grow and explore their options on a campus that has benefited from millions of pounds’ worth of investment over recent years.
Swap Not Drop
Starting a study programme in September can seem like a massive commitment, especially if you are not sure if the course is right for you. So around the end of September, early October students can switch study programmes. Swap Not Drop sessions allow students to talk to their tutors, or tutors of other subject areas to see if another programme is right for them. We hope to get these study programmes right, right at the beginning, but understand that some students make their choices without talking to our careers team first. To prevent too much movement, we would encourage you and your child to book a one-to-one with our careers team. You can book this by dropping us an email at: firstname.lastname@example.org or fill out the Swap Not Drop Booking form below.
