Frequently Asked Questions

We've compiled our mostly asked questions regarding enrolment here so you can access the answers you need quickly!

If you don't see the answer you need or have any other questions please email us at studentrecords@northlindsey.ac.uk.

Enrolment Day is when you come into college to:

• Provide your exam results
• Confirm your place on your chosen course
• Get your student card and lanyard
• Receive your timetable
• Arrange access to the building
• Sort out any important paperwork

Many of our staff will be available on the day to help with any other questions you may have, including:
• Bursaries and financial support, including bus passes
• Career support
• Academic support
• Questions about college life

Main enrolment dates are 21st and 22nd August.

You will receive an email in August regarding your enrolment appointment, so please keep an eye on your inbox, including spam and junk folders! If you haven’t received an email by August 12th or have any questions, don’t hesitate to get in touch with the enrolment team at studentrecords@northlindsey.ac.uk.

When your appointment comes around, make sure you come to see us at North Lindsey College, Kingsway, Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire, DN17 1AJ.

If you’re unable to attend on the scheduled dates, don’t worry! We’ll also be holding enrolment sessions on 26th and 27th August, as well as during the week commencing  2nd September, between 10am and 4pm.

If you are aged 16-18 please bring your GCSE results statement with you to ensure you are allocated the correct course and a form of Identification.

You will also need one form of identity from the list below:

  • Passport
  • Driving Licence
  • National Insurance Card/Letter
  • Bank/Debit/Credit Card
  • National ID/Citizen Card
  • Birth Certificate

You will be met at the college entrance and escorted/directed to the Diner where you will meet your vocational tutor.  They will confirm your course and provide details about your first day.

Maths and English tutors will review your GCSE results and assign you to a group for the next year if necessary. *It is mandatory for all students to have their Maths and English grades reviewed and if you have not achieved a Grade 4 in Maths or English you must be enrolled and attend Maths and English.


If your course requires you to have a DBS there will be staff on hand to help you with your application. You will then proceed to the LRC to finalise your enrolment and have your ID card printed. Once you have enrolled, you will be assisted by colleagues in setting up your IT logins.

Once you’re enrolled, that’s it – you’re officially a North Lindsey College student and we look forward to seeing you again soon on your college start date!

If you have changed your mind about the course you would like to study, or if you have not met the entry requirements for your chosen course, do not worry our staff will be available to help you explore your options and find the path that is right for you.

It’s completely normal to feel a bit nervous about starting somewhere new and meeting new people. The Wellbeing team will be at the enrolment events and available when you begin your course to support you and help you settle in.

Don’t stress – just come in and have a chat with us. We’ll see what other courses or routes are available and help you find the right one.

Enrolment takes place on our North Lindsey College Campus (North Lindsey College, Kingsway, Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire, DN17 1AJ). Once you enter you will be shown where you need to go to complete enrolment.

If you have any issues or questions, or have not received an email by August 12th please contact the enrolment team on studentrecords@northlindsey.ac.uk.
