This qualification is a coherent study of the health and social care sector and supports progression to an apprenticeship or employment in the sector or to a further year of study at Level 3 with possible progression to higher education.

59% coursework, 41% exams.
We typically require maths and English GCSE grade at 4 or higher to enrol on the Level 3 National Foundation Diploma. Grade 4+ in a minimum of 3 other Level 2 subjects are an advantage but can be discussed at enrolment. Grade 4+ in a science may be an advantage if you are hoping to progress to university to study a health related programme.
Upon completion of the Level 3 National Foundation learners may progress to the Level 3 National Extended Diploma which supports progression to higher education.
