As part of this course, you will cover the following units:
- Communication in Health and Social Care (Adults and Children and Young People), Early Years and Childcare. This unit considers different ways of communicating with individuals, the barriers that may have an impact on effective communication and how to overcome these barriers.
Introduction to Autistic Spectrum Condition. This unit introduces the learner to autistic spectrum condition. The learner will identify behaviours that are associated with the condition and how to support people using a range of different methods.
As part of this course, you will cover the following units:

Learners will complete a portfolio of work.
Learners must:
- Be aged 19+ as of 31/08/2025
- Currently live in England
- Have resided in the EU/UK for 3+ years for purposes other than study
Not be enrolled on an apprenticeship
Learners who complete this course could go on to study:
- Introduction to Working with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) – Classroom
- Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Autism – Online
Level 2 Certificate in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care – Online
