Performance UAL Level 4 Professional Diploma

Within the course, students will be given the opportunity to enhance their performance skills in preparation for the next level of training or going straight into the industry, within their chosen discipline. The Level 4 qualification pathways are Acting, Dance and Musical Theatre. This year long course can be used as a gap year before attending University or Stage School.

Progression options:
Stage Performer (West End, Regional and Touring Theatres), Screen Acting (Television, Film), Cruise Ships performer, Commercial dancer, Director and Producer.

Our previous students are currently training at London Studios, Performers College, Bird College, Arts Ed, Masters of Performing Arts, Royal Academy of Dance, Creative Academy, LIPA, Italia Conti and Emil Dale.

Within this qualification, you will cover a variety of styles and techniques within your chosen discipline to become a well rounded performer. In this full time course, you will be taking part in internal and external performances throughout the year in a variety of theatres, spaces and settings. This course is 90% practical and 10% theory.

Each skill within your chosen discipline is studied extensively.
In Acting you will study, script development, production, creative work, improvisation, script work, directing and audition technique.

In Dance, you will study a variety of dance genres including Contemporary, Jazz, Ballet and Urban Dance, with a focus on technique.

In Musical Theatre, you will study, all genres of dance, singing technique, script work, voice work, audition technique and Improvisation.

All disciplines allow the student to develop and create their own work.

An annual trip to London, allows the students to see professional shows and our master classes throughout the year gives the chance for students to work with industry professionals.

Each student has the opportunity to audition for our casting agency, Duckegg Agency, allowing them to access professional work. The students are able to receive one to one sessions alongside their group classes.

The qualification is made up of three mandatory units; Applied Professional Practice, Specialist Performance Technique and Specialist Performance Project. These units will be completed throughout the year using varied assessment styles to suit your needs. Units can be submitted verbally, electronically or creatively.

GCSE Maths Grade 4 or above, GCSE English Grade 4 or above. A Level 3 Performing Arts qualification is desirable but not essential. Passion and determination for the subject is essential.
