The level 2 extended diploma provides learners with the knowledge and understanding essential to the health and social care sector, supporting
progression to further learning or the workplace.
In addition to classroom activity and coursework learners will attend work placement in order to support their learning.

The level 2 extended diploma can usually be completed in one year.
Units included in the level 2 extended diploma:
– Equality, diversity and rights in health and social care
– Human growth and development
– Safeguarding and protection in health and social care
– Communication in health and social care
– Working in health and social care
The extended eiploma is assessed through coursework completed across the academic year.
We typically require maths and English GCSE grade at 2 or higher to enrol on the level 2 extended diploma. We can discuss the appropriate starting course for you at interview/enrolment.
Upon achievement of this qualification, students will be able to progress onto further learning or to employment within the health and social care sector. The Extended Diploma supports direct progression to our Level 3 Award, Certificate and Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care.
