The Technical Level 3 Certificate in Childcare and Education is a year long qualification which prepares students for the Technical Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education (Early Years Educator).
Students are provided with knowledge with children from birth to 7 years and practical experience working with children from birth to 5 years.

Duration
The technical level 3 certificate can usually be completed in one year.
Units covered in the level 3 technical certificate:
– Child development from conception to seven years
– Children’s health and well-being
– Providing safe environments for children
– Child health
– Play and learning
– Understanding children’s additional needs
– Observation, assessment and planning
The technical certificate is assessed primarily through coursework with one externally assessed assignment which is completed independently in exam conditions.
We typically require maths and English GCSE grade at 4 or higher to enrol on the technical level 3 certificate. Grade 4+ in a minimum of 3 other Level 2 subjects are an advantage but can be discussed at enrolment.
Upon achievement of this qualification it is intended that learners will be able to progress onto the Technical Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education (Early Years Educator).
The Technical Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education (Early Years Educator) prepares learners to become Early Years Educators, enabling them to work with children from birth to 5 years and gain knowledge of children aged 5 to 7 years.
Upon achievement, this qualification enables learners to enter the workforce as Early Years Educators or access Higher Education.
