Taught by staff with a variety of sector experience, this course will introduce you to best practice within the animal care industry. The course is made up of theoretical and practical elements, with the hands-on aspects taught within the College’’s purpose built animal care centre.
Units you may study include: Maintain animal health and welfare Animal feeding and accommodation The principles of animal biology Working in the animal care industry British wildlife species, habitats and rehabilitation Employability skills
40% Assessment – Exam 60% Assessment – Coursework
Ideally at least 4 GCSEs at grade 9-4 or grade A*-D or a Level 1 qualification, but this is subject to discussion at your interview. If you haven’t already achieved a GCSE grade 5 or grade C in English or Maths, then you will study either GCSE or Functional Skills English or Maths alongside your other qualifications.
