HNC Hospitality and Management

Course Overview

This is a full-time, one year programme resulting in the award of a Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Hospitality Management, Level 4. This course is a stimulating and challenging programme of study that is both engaging and memorable for students. The varied approach to assessment that supports progression to Level 5 and links assessments that are relevant to the local economy. The qualification is designed for students who want to develop their knowledge and skills with the aspiration to work in an international hospitality environment. The HNC is made up of modules which aim to introduce students to the subject of Hospitality Management whilst developing the skills required at this level. These skills include both verbal and written communication, information technology, numeracy, critical thinking and employability.

The requirements for applicants progressing from full-time education are 32 UCAS points/NVQ3 or equivalent Level 3 qualification. Some applicants come through the experiential route (relevant work or life experience). We have a long and successful record of supporting mature students, many of whom left formal education some time ago.

Students can progress onto BTEC Higher National Diploma in Hospitality Management Level 5.

– Assignments based on simulated or case-study work
