Written by Emma Doyle

Phil Whitehead recently attended a workshop at Microsoft to be at the top of digital innovation.

The skillset Phil has developed as a result of the programme will help assist digital skills across both Doncaster College and University Centre, North Lindsey College and the UCNL for both students and staff.  Phil will be sharing his knowledge and transfer his skills with staff and students to educate and equip them for the future with Microsoft software.

The boot camp looked at effective digital communication, Office 265, Microsoft HoloLens, apps development and education 4.0, application for development, collaborative documents as well as looking around the impressive Microsoft offices

Phil’s commitment to technology was recognised by staff at the Digi Learn Sector, particularly his contribution towards digital teaching and learning, which has resulted in him being asked to become a UK DigiLearn coordinator.

DN Colleges Group is also now part of a DigiLearn group with 400 Members from various colleges, secondary schools and HE providers across the UK

Phil said, “Attending the Microsoft Educational Boot camp was an absolutely amazing experience; I gained so much knowledge and I am thrilled to be recognised as a Microsoft Teacher Trainer. Digital Skills are increasingly becoming the most important and sought after skills for employers. This opportunity has enabled me to support our colleges in ensuring our students and staff have the necessary training and development to succeed in the 21st century workplace.”
