ESOL

If English is not your first language we provide a range of courses which will help you improve your English language skills. You’ll study speaking and listening, reading and writing to improve your skills in listening and responding, speaking to communicate, contributing effectively, and engaging in discussions and improving your spelling, grammar and punctuation skills. We offer both full and flexible part-time courses and our highly experienced team will discuss the best options for you. 

Our full time ESOL Study Programme at Entry 1-Level 1 are for 16–18 year olds. Alongside your ESOL course, you will also study maths, employability, digital skills, well-being and take part in work experience, allowing you to have real hands-on experience to put your skills to the test and help develop them further. In addition we offer  enrichment trips to develop your understanding of Life in The UK and sports activities. 

Adults: Pre-Entry-Level 2 Speaking & Listening, Reading, Writing 

The part-time provision is for adults, with a variety of classes running in the mornings, afternoon and evenings. This course is FREE for most. Fees will be discussed at interview. 

We run highly successful English language courses  for adults, from pre- entry level ( beginner) through to Level 2  (advanced ). 

Our friendly and highly  experienced teachers will be able to help you find the right level course when you take part in your initial assessment and interview before you start. 

As well as gaining recognised ESOL and functional skills qualifications, our courses help you with all aspects of life in the United Kingdom. This could be to improve your English and pass the Life in the UK Test for your British Citizenship application, to find a job or a better job, to talk to doctors and teachers, to understand British culture and law, to help your children with their homework or to progress to gain a qualification in a vocational or academic subject. 

You may also be able to take other courses including maths, IT and other vocational subjects which are accredited by recognised awarding bodies. 

After studying ESOL at Entry 3, Level 1 or Level 2 many of our ESOL learners feel ready to progress to a vocational course the following year. We have a variety of courses to support you to achieve your aim – whether that is employment, a career change, promotion or Higher Education. Our Careers Team will be available to support you with this and talk to you about individual opportunities available to you. 

Please note, at the end of the online application form there is a question about the amount of time you have been in the UK and advised if it’s under 3 years to apply in person at the college, this is not now necessary, and the form is being updated. Please tick 3 years and continue with the form, a Status Check will be completed before you enrol
