Enforcement procedure
The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) is responsible for enforcing the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018 (the ‘accessibility regulations’). If you’re not happy with how we respond to your complaint, contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS).
Technical information about this website’s accessibility
North Lindsey College is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.
Compliance status
This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard, due to the non-compliances listed below.
Non-accessible content
The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.
Image text alternatives
Some images on our news and blog posts do not have a text alternative, so people using a screen reader cannot access the information. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.1.1 (non-text content).
We are currently working through all of these images to add a text alternative to every image. When we publish new content we’ll make sure our use of images meets accessibility standards.
Forms
Some forms do not have a high enough contrast of colours between text and background colours.
We are currently updating our stylesheets to ensure sufficient contrast and adaptability.
PDFs and other documents
Some of our PDFs and Word documents are essential to providing our services. For example, we have PDFs with our policy and procedural information which may not always be accessible to screen reader software.
We are currently converting all of these documents into accessible HTML pages.
Content that’s not within the scope of the accessibility regulations
Live video
We do not plan to add captions to live video streams because live video is exempt from meeting the accessibility regulations. We will continue to provide captions and transcriptions for all non-live video content that is uploaded to our website.
What we’re doing to improve accessibility
- By end December 2022 all form styling will have been reviewed and updated to ensure contrast meets WCAG 2.1 requirements
- By end January 2023 all images will have complete alternative text where applicable
- By end May 2023 all policies and procedures will be available as HTML web pages by default instead of PDF files

This website was last tested on 6 September 2022. The test was carried out by the internal DN Colleges Group web team.
We used the following approach to deciding on a sample of pages to test.
We chose to use each of the following pages based on their high usage levels in our websites and importance of the information they contain to our visitors. Some pages of lesser visitor importance were used to enable sampling of other forms of media and functional website elements which are used less frequently throughout our website. The pages included in the most recent test are listed below:
