Our Step into Care course is the perfect introduction for anyone looking to start a meaningful career in the health and social care sector, working in settings that support adults, children and young people, and those with learning difficulties.
Whether you’re new to the field or looking to explore a new career path, this course will provide you with the knowledge, skills and confidence to take the first steps towards a caring profession.
As part of this course, you will gain the following qualifications:
- Level 1 Diploma in Introduction to Health and Social Care (Children and Young People’s Settings)
- Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid in Work
As part of this course, you will undertake practical sessions in our state-of-the-art simulation rooms and, upon completion, have the potential opportunity to attend an interview with a local employer.
Learners will complete a portfolio of work.
Learners must:
- Be aged 19+ as of 31/08/2025
- Currently live in England
- Have resided in the EU/UK for 3+ years for purposes other than study
Not be enrolled on an apprenticeship
Learners who complete this course could go on to study:
- Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Children and Young People’s Mental Health – Online
- Level 2 Certificate in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care – Online
Upon successful completion of this course, you could apply for entry-level roles within nurseries, school, or children’s residential care, or even further your experience by volunteering in youth clubs or community support services.
