North Lindsey College welcomed the public onto campus again at their first annual October Open Event since 2019 due to recent Covid restrictions, seeing record numbers walk through the doors.
The College reported a highly successful event, with queues of visitors waiting for the event to open at 4.30pm, all wanting to tour the facilities, see the campus for themselves and discover what North Lindsey can offer prospective students.
The event didn’t disappoint, with every curriculum area displaying an array of sector specific activities and demonstrations to show off the practical elements of the programmes that the College has to offer.
Daniel Fenwick (Deputy Principal, DN Colleges Group) said, “It was absolutely fantastic to see, in person, so many prospective students and their families and friends join us at our recent Open event.
“There was a real buzz around the campus and the current students, and our staff all offered some great advice, support, and insights into all our curriculum areas. There were some amazing activities which the prospective students had an opportunity to take part in and they all really enjoyed this.”
The Mayor of North Lincolnshire Cllr Peter Clark, attended the event and also toured the facilities, which has been a tradition at the College’s October Open Event.
Bev Kirkham (Parent) who attended the event said, “I have found the whole College very welcoming and has put a lot of my fears to rest. It has felt home from home and all the teachers are lovely, what more can you want as a parent! My daughter is going to love it here.”
Visitor Emily Dent (15) came from Frederick Gough school with the intentions of studying hairdressing. Emily said, “Although I want to do Hairdressing, I really enjoyed seeing the animals and music was amazing and so cool. You can see students get on really well with each other and are able to express themselves.”
The next full open event at North Lindsey College is to be held on the 9th February 2022, 4.30pm-7.30pm.
