Performing Arts at North Lindsey College Enjoy Record Success

Posted: July 9, 2021

Musical Theatre and Acting programmes at North Lindsey College have reported their highest progression figures to date.

Over 98% of 2021 leavers have excellent progression pathways with students having collectively received over 30 offers to some of the top stage schools in the UK including Italia Conti, Performers College, Rose Bruford, ICTheatre, Emil Dale, Bird College, Momentum, Chichester Conservatoire, as well as number of universities and two students receiving scholarships.

Leena Pawlyszn (Performing Arts Lecture – Musical Theatre and Acting) said, “I am incredibly proud of what our students have achieved this year, particularly given that they have lost over 6 months of studio time. We adhered to the restrictions and made sure that their training continued online as best we could and we also continued to deliver socially distanced 1:1 free audition tuition that we offer to all our students.”

Leena continued, “This is our most successful year to date for progression within our Acting and Musical Theatre pathways. We’ve worked really hard to develop the level of training the students get and its now paying off. Over the last few years we have had some students go onto top stage schools (ArtsEd, LIPA, ARDEN Theatre) but these were the minority. We can now say 98% of leavers have excellent progression. North Lindsey College really is the place to train in Performing Arts.”

Leena’s commitment has seen her spend over 130 extra hours dedicated to individual students to ensure they achieve their dreams and increase the quality to meet those high aspirations.

Will Thompson (19) Level 3 Musical Theatre student and former South Axholme Academy Pupil has been offered a variety of places and has accepted his place to the prestigious Italia Conti. Will said, “The training has been intense and hard work in all disciplines, singing acting and dancing. This was really good for me personally though and has been beneficial in the environment that I am going to work in. There is no way I would have received this offer if I hadn’t of come to North Lindsey College.”
