North Lindsey College welcomed the children from St Bernadette’s Catholic Primary Voluntary Academy into College for their annual Christmas adventure to Lapland.
Pupils from St Bernadette’s Catholic Primary Voluntary Academy flew first class, prepared food for Rudolph and met Santa himself during a recent winter getaway organised by Travel students – all without leaving the walls of North Lindsey College.
With a little imagination, the children experienced a magical visit to the College which has now been taking place in December for a number of years. The event was extra special for the children without Covid restrictions disrupting the visit and the excited children embraced the celebrations with their pretend passports in tow.
Hayley Fenwick (Teacher at St Bernadette’s Catholic Primary Voluntary Academy) said, “A fantastic morning enjoyed by all. We were very excited to be returning to North Lindsey this year for our annual Lapland Experience Trip. As usual the students and staff were very professional. They provided three rooms of Christmassy fun for the children; a cabin ‘flight’ experience, Santa’s workshop with colouring, list writing, reindeer food making and biscuit decorating and Santa’s Grotto – with a brilliant Santa!”
Hayley continued, “The students did a wonderful job of welcoming the children and talking to them all the way through each of the three experiences. The children were buzzing all day and haven’t stopped talking about their Christmas surprise ever since.”
The travel students study events management as part of their course module programme and this will support them in developing their leadership skills and build their confidence.
Kayleigh Grierson (Curriculum Leader in Travel, Business and Catering) said, “The students worked very hard to ensure the success of this event in a very short space of time. They managed to work fantastic as a team, using a range of their skills, to create a magical experience for the children to never forget.”
