DN Colleges Group is proud to announce its latest accolade of becoming an AOC Beacon Finalist.
The Association of Colleges (AoC) Beacon Awards celebrate the best and most innovative practice among UK further education (FE) colleges. It is managed by the AoC and runs through the AoC Charitable Trust which is a registered charity. The aim of the awards programme is to demonstrate and promote the far-reaching impact of colleges on their students and the communities they serve.
The award category is the British Council International Award and the International team is thrilled with the recognition of their work. The team ensure that the College’s students have a global presence and the opportunity to experience working and living abroad and enabling students to gain global employability skills and an increased awareness of the value of international experiences. The experiences allow students to travel on fully funded trips whilst participating in work placements with companies overseas gaining new skills, increased confidence and independence as well as valuable training in their chosen vocational area of study.
A team from the British Council International Award will make contact with the College in the new year and due to COVID restrictions this year, the assessor visits will now take place virtually. The Lead Assessor and their co-assessors assigned to the award will need to complete the visit in adequate time to allow moderation to take place before any final recommendations to the Charitable Trust Board.
Mick Lochran (Chief Executive, DN Colleges Group) said, “I am so proud of the opportunities DN Colleges International provide for North Lindsey and Doncaster College Students. A team of assessors will contact the College in the new year and due to COVID restrictions, visits will now take place virtually. The assessors will engage in discussions with managers, stakeholders, partners and staff involved delivering the initiative, they would also like the opportunity to talk to students.”
