North Lindsey Tutor the Latest Microsoft Innovative Trainer
Ellen Lumgair, who works at the popular Scunthorpe College, has now gained MIE status and is the first to achieve the accolade within DN Colleges Group. Phil Whitehead, the Digital Teaching and Learning Manager at North Lindsey and Microsoft Learning Consultant, is now a Master Trainer with Microsoft and has been Ellen’s Mentor throughout the process. North Lindsey Planter to Support Macmillan Team
Mark Ullah, Maintenance Operator at North Lindsey College, decided that he wanted to support local causes by raising money and he could do this by using his trade skills. In his spare time Mark built a bespoke planter, which he donated to the team to be raffled off during their own Macmillan Coffee Morning. DofE praise North Lindsey College
The College have been praised by the DofE for its local contributions between April 2019 and March 2020. The social value of the hours comes to a staggering £5428.80 which has benefitted the local community. All funds raised by the College has come from a wide range of student projects including volunteering at Magic Moments, The Hastings Centre, Lincolnshire House, Lindsey Lodge Hospice, Low Field House, Scope and Sue Ryder. North Lindsey College selected to be WorldSkills UK Centre of Excellence
The link will mean that staff across the Group will benefit from bespoke training to support their CPD, which in turn will mean students will benefit from tutors with industry trained tutors. The work will be led by WorldSkills UK High-Performance Skills Coaches, who are all experienced WorldSkills UK Training Managers. They will capture learnings from international competitions and use these to coach and mentor tutors at North Lindsey College

North Lindsey College are now recognised as the fifth largest FE provider of apprenticeships in the UK and have been working with Syngenta, delivering a core apprenticeship.
