The annual event is now in its fifth year and is growing in popularity. All curriculum areas put on a stellar display and showed off to the public what they do best with interactive activities to show-case their talent. Activities on the day included animal handling, Construction activities, Health and Social Care wound dressing and mock wounds, along with fun free activities including nerf wars, digital laser quest, Children’s University, Trent Valley Gliding Club, hair braiding and tattoos, cream tea sale, Go-Karts plus much more.
Paula Clark (visitor) said, “The engineering workshop was particularly good. We have been really impressed and the College is well equipped with everything a student would need.”
The event was also an opportunity to welcome the community to the College and for them to see the fantastic success that the College has had this year, including becoming the What Uni? Student Choice Award winner, receiving the Matrix quality standards and being voted in the top FE Choices regional survey for learner satisfaction.
Kingsway Fitness Suite also celebrated its 25th anniversary, serving the general public and students a reliable service to its customers over the years. The gym is well equipped with a multi-gym and a range of free weights and aerobic equipment – including treadmills and cross-trainers. The gym is great for building strength, burning fat, improving general fitness, or for specific sports conditioning.
Mick Lochran (North Lindsey College principal) said, “It’s been so fantastic to see so many people from the community engaging in the College.”
Visitor, Julie Dobbs and former Higher Education student, said, “My Granddaughter has had a great time, we have enjoyed every minute of it. The facilities are brilliant, Health and Social Care was really impressive and the staff were very welcoming.”
