Students Create a Christmas Adventure
Business and travel students recreated the ultimate festive dream for St Bernadette’s Catholic Primary Voluntary Academy.
The festive treat has become an annual event for the children which saw them embrace a full Christmas experience. They wrote letters to Santa, made reindeer food, decorated biscuits and flew to Lapland on the College’s very own air cabin which simulates a real flight with in cabin service from Iron Air.
Each child received their very own Iron Air passport, as the children stepped on board for the imaginary trip before meeting Santa himself.
“The annual Lapland event was such a fantastic success overall and the students, staff and children really enjoyed themselves. It is a way for my students to gain experience in planning, delivering and evaluating an event for their assignments. It was such a proud moment to see my Level 2 class come together as a team to develop so many new skills to benefit their futures.” Said Kayleigh Grierson (Tourism Lecturer).
Cailtlin Sawyer (17) Level 2 Travel and Tourism Student helped with the organisation of the event and said, “I’ve really enjoyed this week and I have really grown in confidence, particularly around the children. This has really got me out of my comfort zone but all the children had lovely smiles on their faces; so I think they enjoyed it too.”
