Work Experience

In the last 12 months our students have completed 70,000 hours’ worth of work experience with over 94% of our students completing a placement.

About Work Experience

During the past academic year we have worked with over 500 employers locally and regionally. On average, students carry out 50 hours work experience as part of their programme of study.

All of our students have access to work experience and there is no restriction to the number of times you go on a placement or the type of industry sector you try out.

Many of our employers offer apprenticeships and some offer both apprenticeships and work experience. This is a fantastic way to see what it is like in your chosen industry, or figure out what type of job role you want to go in to!

There are so many benefits to a placement, including building up your career confidence, enhancing your CV and UCAS application, developing your employability skills, as well as improved awareness of the opportunities available to you in this area and the wider region.

Employability skills are really important no matter what sector your job role is in, these include good timekeeping, communication skills, team working and problem solving.

Testimonial

My tutors were really supportive and helped me grow in confidence. The facilities are also second to none. I really enjoyed the work experience in schools which helped me prepare for industry and I also got the opportunity to travel to Barcelona and Italy with College. Everyone is really close at North Lindsey College and it makes it a great place to study.
